Why don’t you serve your guests with this delicious side dish served with bread/roti/naan. This paneer tikka recipes is pretty rich and heavy, the sauce is made with onions, tomato puree and yogurt.

For marination and roast

1 cup Curd/Yogurt (dahi)
1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp Coriander powder (dhaniya powder)
1/2 tsp Garam masala
1/2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Garlic paste
1/4 Onion, cubed
1/4 capsicum, cubed
8-10 Cottage cheese (paneer), Cubed
1 tbsp oil

For gravy
1 tbsp oil
2-3 Dry Chili
1 Bay leaf
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 Tomatoes, pureed
2 tbsp Cashew paste
1-1/2 cup water
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp Garam masala
1 tsp Chili powder


For marination and roast

1. In a large bowl, take the thick curd. Add Chili powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder, garam masala, salt and garlic paste to it. Mix well.
2. Add cubed onion, capsicum and paneer to it.
3. Mix gently and marinate for 30 min.
4. Grease a flat (tawa) with oil on medium heat and place the marinated pieces of onion, capsicum and panner on it. Roast it from all sides.
Note: Keep the left over curd mixture for further use.

For paneer tikka with gravy
1. In a pan on medium heat, take oil and add dry chili and bay leaf to it.
2. Add chopped onions to it and saute till translucent
3. Add the tomato pure to it, stir and let it cook for 3-4 min.
4. Add cashew paste and 1/4 cup of water to above, stir and let cook for another minute.
5. Add chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt. Stir.
6. Add roated paneer, capsicum and onion to it and also add the left over curd mixture. Mix gently.
7. Let it final cook for 2 minutes. You may also add water to adjust the consistency as required.
8. Serve with bread/naan/roti and enjoy.
