Here’s How To Make It:
All-purpose flour, 2 Cup
Sugar, 2 Cup
Unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 Cup
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon coarse salt
2 large egg
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water (I used coffee)
Butter Cream Icing
1 cup butter, Softened
2.5 cup icing Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
Blue-Green Color (to reach the desired shade)
Ganache pour and monster eyes
Chocolate and cream in 1:2 ratio
Oreo cookie and M&M’s
In a large bow,combine together all-purpose flour,sugar,cocoa powder,baking powder,baking soda and salt to a fine mix.
Add 2 large eggs , vegetable oil , milk and vanilla extract to the dry mix.Blend with the help of hand mixer.
Pour in boiling water with a pinch of coffee in it. Blend again.
Pour the half of cake batter into the baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes at 180°C/350°F.
Transfer the other half to other baking dish of same size if available or wait for second round of bake.
Note: You may also bake it all at once and cut the final sponge into two halves. We may also vary the ingredients proportionately to achieve the thinner layers. Example : 1.5 cup sugar, 1.5 cup flour, 3/4 cup cocoa etc.
Butter Cream Icing
Whip the softened butter in a large bowl for 2-3 minutes, till its fluffy and paler then before.
Add Icing sugar to it in two intervals and whip again for 2-3 minutes. (first at low and later at high speed)
Add vanilla and Blue green color to the cream. Whip again.
Adjust color as per your desired shade.
Put 2-3 tbsp of frosting on cake stand. Spread it and place the first sponge over it.
Using offset spatula or whatever you have for your comfort, put around 1 cup of frosting/icing on top of bottom later and spread it evenly upto the edge of top surface.
Place 2nd layer of cake ( base prepared) over it and repeat the same process of spreading 1 cup of frosting over the top of second layer.
Using spatula, Frost the sides of cake in sections and thus aiming to cover it a whole with frosting.
Once cake is covered with frosting, give the final finish to it. Smooth out the frosting.
Prepare the chocolate ganache, using 1:2 in ratio Chocolate : Cream, by pouring hot cream in chocolate chips and stirring with spoon till fine and smooth sauce.
Pour the ganache on top of the cake at centre and spread it at top with the help of spoon, occasionally letting it flow at sides at some points.
Let the cake refrigerate for 30 minutes.
For eyes, Twist the oreo cookie in two halves and poke the pointed tip of toothpick below the cream of oreo half and press the cream area with tip gently.
Coat M&M with chocolate and press it gently at the centre of the oreo cream.
Poke the other end of the pick inside the cake.
